It has been 30 years since our 900 series Alto Sax was first launched in 1995. Since then, we have also launched the 902 and 992 series, made of bronze, and the 9937 series, made of silver, as well as the rose gold-plated model, in order to achieve a wide variety of sounds. Despite these changes, the original design and engineering have been a proven success, and as such, it is a design that we have been reluctant to change.

However, sometimes it is necessary to give a new perspective to an old design. Today's music and musicians are so much more flexible than ever before, and the saxophone is now valued in an even wider spectrum, from classical to jazz and pop. Therefore, we felt that the time had come for a new model to lead these exciting new times.

The 900 series was aimed at beginners and intermediate players, while the new “Light type” models are so advanced that professional musicians will appreciate the feel of a new, lighter blowing sound that is easier to play without losing the sound qualities of our trademark.
